Eldred H. Eichers, 88|
Eldred Henry Eichers, of Grafton, was born to eternal life on Feb. 14, 2014, at the age of 88.
Eldred was born on March 5, 1925, in Cold Spring, Minn., the son of Joseph Eichers and Susan (nee Theisen) Eichers. He was later inducted into the U.S. Navy during World War II in the summer of 1943. Eldred was honorably discharged on April 11, 1946.
Eldred was united in marriage with Albina “Sherry” Lorenzi on June 17, 1950, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Joseph and Laurie.
Eldred was a member of the Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355, in Grafton, as well as a longtime member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Grafton. He enjoyed spending countless hours with woodworking projects as well as playing golf whenever he got the chance.
Eldred is survived by his children, Joe (Penny) Eichers and Laurie (John) Douglass; grandchildren, Rachel (Jordan) Roessingh, Alissa (Adan) Burgos, Jacob Eichers, Sean Douglass and Kory Douglass; great-grandchildren, Cole Burgos, Chase Burgos and Henry Roessingh; and sister, Devora (Ken) Corcoran. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Eldred was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Sherry.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Grafton. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
