Carol Ann Prost, 69|
Carol Ann Prost (nee Gerth), 69, of West Bend died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 10, 1944, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of the late Lyle and Louise (Schellpfeffer) Gerth. She was baptized on the Fourth of July in 1944, the godchild of Jeannette Lechner and Earl Qualman.
Carol graduated from Mayville High School in 1962. She married Lloyd Prost on June 1, 1968. She worked at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend for 29 years in the Dietary Department, retiring as a cook in September of 2010.
Carol belonged to HCE in Dodge and Washington counties, senior centers in Beaver Dam and West Bend, Ewes Knitting Guild in Cedarburg, and other knitting and crocheting groups. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and blessed those she loved with her afghans and baby blankets.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years Lloyd Prost of West Bend, daughter Linda Poellot of Cedarburg, grandsons William Jacob Poellot and Jack Lloyd Poellot, and son-in-law Mark Poellot. She is further survived by her sisters Grace (Dave) Strassman of Brownsville, Nancy (Steven) Feucht of Iron Ridge, her sisters-in-law Beverly Gerth of Kekoskee and Bernice (Ronnie) Stange of Kewaskum, her brother-in-law Myron (Ellen) Prost of West Bend, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Louise Gerth, her brother David Gerth, and her nephew Adam Gerth.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at 6 p.m. at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend with the Rev. David Kellerman officiating. Entombment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. The visitation will be Friday at the church only from 4-5:45 p.m. Memorials to the Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown or the charity of the donorís choice are appreciated.
