Adam Spaeth, 95|
Adam Spaeth of Hartford, formerly of Rubicon, age 95 years, passed away
Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at The Gardens in Hartford.
Roland was born on Jan. 10, 1919, in the town of West Bend to Michael and
Meta (nee Faber) Spaeth. He was united in marriage to Mary Hetzel on Sept.
27, 1944, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger. He graduated from West
Bend High School 1936. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1942 and
served until 1946. Roland was a navigator of B17 and B24 aircraft and flew
missions over Italy. He left the service with rank of captain. He was a
dairy farmer and in 1950 bought a farm in Rubicon, where his four children
were raised. He retired from farming in 1981. Roland was a member of the
St. Johnís Catholic Church in Rubicon. He served as an usher, a trustee
and was care taker of the grounds for many years. He was also a member of
the VFW 3358 Slinger Wisconsin and served as quartermaster for 29 years.
He was a member of Catholic Knights and Knights of Columbus. After
retiring from farming, he volunteered as a driver for Dodge County,
driving people to doctorís appointments around the area. He was a member
of Senior Friends of Hartford and enjoyed hours of playing Sheepshead.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Spaeth; loving
children, Ralph Spaeth of Indiana,
Ronald (Shirley) Spaeth of Hartford, Linda (Bill Perry) Czisny of Texas
and Rozanne (Rick) Vancil of Colorado; cherished grandchildren Matthew
(Carrie), Andrea (Erik) and Bryon (Allison); great-grandchildren Owen,
Avery, Ethan and Annabelle; his sister, Florence (Roman) Mueller of
Brookfield; sisters-in-law Evangeline Schaefer of Campbellsport and
Dolores (William) Hornickel of Milwaukee; and brother-inlaw Oscar Hetzel
of Slinger. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. Roland was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers,
Howard (Bernice) and Sylvester (Adelia) Spaeth.
Mass of Christian Burial for Roland will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014,
at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, (1170 Rome Road, Rubicon) with
the Rev. Alois Van Beek officiating. Family will greet relatives and
friends on Sunday, Feb. 23, at St. John Catholic Church from 1-3:30 p.m.
with a prayer service at 4 p.m. There will be no visitation Monday morning
before Mass. Interment in St. Johnís Cemetery, Rubicon.

staff at the Gardens in Hartford for your loving and tender support.
