Frances D. Kissinger, nee Pieper, 91, of West Bend, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, town of Polk.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1923, in New Holstein to the late Franklin and Wilhelmina (nee Roeh) Pieper. Fran lived in California from 1952-56 and worked at an aircraft company. After returning to West Bend, she worked at the West Bend Company for 29 years, retiring in 1986.
Fran was united in marriage to Eldon “Al” Kissinger on Sept. 10, 1960, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend. Al passed away Nov. 26, 2003.
Fran was an avid sports fan and she enjoyed bowling in a league for many years. She also spent many hours craft painting and doing number puzzles. Every morning, she enjoyed having coffee at McDonald’s and visiting with the coffee “gang.”
She is survived by her son, Steven Kissinger of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Irene (Sonny) Albright, and five brothers, Benjamin “Scotty” Pieper, Eldon “Shorty” (Althea) Pieper, Harvey (Lucille) Pieper, Howard Pieper, and Frank (Marie) Pieper.
A funeral service in remembrance of Fran will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 S. Fifth Ave., West Bend. The Rev. Jeremy Deaner will officiate and burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
