Joanne Konitzer, 82|
Mildred Konitzer (nee Opsahl), 82, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the
Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she spent the last two
years of her life.
Joanne was born June 9, 1931, in Oshkosh to the late Peter and Caroline
Opsahl. She married Robert and raised seven children with him, living in
Thiensville, West Bend, Phoenix and West Bend.
She owned and operated Adelmann Dry Cleaners in West Bend, worked at
Amity Leather and West Bend Company, and then at Empire Level in
Milwaukee until she retired.
Joanne was the loving mother of Debra (Tom) Erickson, Diane (James)
Bingen, Kurt (Cindi) Konitzer, Linda (Robert) Gosewehr, Gail (Robert)
Bonenfant, Robert Jr. (Kristine) Konitzer. Mother-in-law of Karen
Konitzer. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and
She was preceded in death by husband Robert, son Steve, brother Keith
Opsahl and sister Lois Woltring. She is survived by brothers Bruce and
Erhard Opsahl and sister Caroline Schultz.
Joanne will be remembered for honoring family above everything and for
the many hats and scarves she wore later in life.
Visitation is Friday, Feb. 28, at Wisconsin Memorial Park — Chapel of
the Flowers, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, from 11 a.m. until the
time of funeral service at 1 p.m.
