Helen E. Goeller, 83


Helen “Eileen” E. Goeller (nee Breuer), 83, of Hartford, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at the Kathy Hospice, town of Polk. She was born on July 22, 1930, in Slinger to Frank and Louise (nee Baier) Breuer. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Goeller on Sept. 12, 1951, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Slinger.

Eileen and Sylvester ran a dairy farm near St. Lawrence. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Texas. Eileen enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and birds. She was generous with her time and talents, donating handmade blankets to senior centers, and always ready to share a bowl of her famous soup with anyone who stopped by for a visit. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Eileen was passionate about caring for her large family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Sylvester Goeller; loving children, James “Jake” Goeller of Madison, Ann (Michael) Fritz of Fond du Lac, Carol (John) Kwiatkowski of Richfield, Patrice (Ronald) Hoeschele, Gregory (Ellen) Goeller, Mary (Thomas) Martin, Thomas (Carol) Goeller, all of Hartford, and Lori (Calvin) Lawrence of DeForest; 24 cherished grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; dear siblings, Thomas Breuer of Allenton, Mary Peters of West Bend and Jerry (Rosemary) Breuer of Slinger; sisters-in-law, Bernice Breuer of West Bend, Carole Breuer of Slinger and Bernice Hug of Kewaskum; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Katherine (Clarence) Becker; brothers, Walter Breuer and Leroy Breuer; and grandson, Gregory Goeller Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen will be Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 Highway 175, Hartford) with the Rev. Davies Edassery officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Interment will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
