Robert ‘Bob’ L. Frank, 77


Robert “Bob” L. Frank of Cedarburg passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls at the age of 77.

Bob was born in Thiensville on Oct. 29, 1936, to Paul and Anita (nee Duffenbach) Frank and married Jean (nee Keller) on June 30, 1962, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Bob was born and raised in the Thiensville-Cedarburg area. He was confirmed at Calvary Ev.

Lutheran Church and graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1956. One of his proudest moments during that time was breaking track records and being given the name “The Silver Bullet.” After high school, Bob worked for Automotive and Aircraft in Cedarburg. At 21, he served two years in the U.S. Army, which included a tour in Korea. He also worked at Snider Mold in Mequon for 20 more years until his retirement.

Other accomplishments of Bob include serving on the Thiensville Fire Department and racing stock cars. Bob was also a member of several clubs, which included snowmobiling, flying model aircrafts, ham radio and building miniature replica hit-or-miss engines with the N.E.W. Model Engine Builders Club. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends ... Until we meet again on that glorious day.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jean, of Cedarburg; children, Michelle (Pastor Michael) Frie of Richfield and Scott (Julie) of West Allis; grandchildren, Brock (Breanna) Brown of California, Abby (Ryan) O’Rourke of California, Eli, Aaron and Olivia Frie of Richfield, Allison Thompson, and Adam and Alyssa Frank of West Allis; greatgrandchild, Brooklyn Brown of California; and sister, Carol (Robert) Melk of Plainfield. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Mike Brown; and brother, Joel Frank.

A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. at Metro Harvest Church, N96 W14313 County Line Road, Menomonee Falls. Visitation was at the church on Monday from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Interment was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
