Anita A. Malone, 99


Anita A. Malone, 99, of Cedarburg, died Thursday evening, Jan. 9, 2014, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.

She was born April 11, 1914, in Grafton, the daughter of Mathias and Mary Dopple Becker. In 1934, she met Bill Malone at a dance at Schmit’s Ball Room in Grafton.

On Oct. 19, 1940, they were married at St. Joseph’s Church in Grafton. The couple farmed in the town of Cedarburg until retiring.

He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. She enjoyed playing bridge and sheepshead.

Anita is survived by her four children, Thomas (Cynthia) Malone of Saukville, Ellen (Robert) Smela of Delray Beach, Fla., Patrick (Barbara) Malone of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and William (Lorraine) Malone of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Jesse (Janet Malone, Jodi (Keith) Fischer, Kristeen (Thomas) Pastore, Chad Smela, Bridget Weatherby, Patrick Malone, Tracy (Anthony) Curran and Matthew Malone; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; special friends, Sue and Gertie Lorenz; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg.

Burial will be in St. Francis Borgia Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Francis Borgia School building fund are appreciated.

The Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
