Jane C. Regnitz, 83, of Cedarburg, died Jan. 14, 2014, at home.
She was born June 9, 1930, in Milwaukee.
Jane is the daughter of Raymond Witt and Caroline Runge. She attended Cedarburg High School where she was a cheerleader and played in the band.
She married John Regnitz at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on June 11, 1949. Jane worked for Levy & Levy as a paralegal for 36 years, retired, and then became the secretary at Advent Lutheran Church for another 16 years. Throughout Jane’s life, she enjoyed spending time at the Oxbo Resort near Park Falls, waitressing at American Legion fish frys, reading novels, needlework, creating paintings with her art group, card club, her Friday movie club, participating in several women’s church committees, member of her high school class reunion committee, a member of the Golden Bulldogs, supporter of the Advent Prayer Garden, and an avid member of Advent Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Paul “Hammer” (Terry) Regnitz; grandchildren, Caroline (Scott) Brandt and John (Angie) Regnitz; great grandchildren, Jackson Brandt, Reese and Kamryn Regnitz; sisters, Judy (the late Reuben) Weidmann (nee Witt) and Rayola (Johnald) Strey (nee Witt); nieces and nephews, Jeffrey (Cathey) Weidmann, Larry Weidmann, Connie (Cody) Strook (nee Strey) and Johnald (Emily) Strey; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Regnitz.
The family wishes to thank all the members of Jane’s medical team over the last few months for all their compassion and hard work. With the help of Horizon Home Care and Hospice, Jane was able to fulfill her wish of dying in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family.
The family will receive visitors at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral services will start at 3 p.m. and be followed by a reception at the church. Memorials to Advent Lutheran Church or Horizon Home Care and Hospice are appreciated.
