Mary Louise Krueger of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the age of 80.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1933, in Kewaskum, the dear daughter of the late Arnold and Ruth (Winkler) Martin, and on Jan. 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Frank K. Krueger.
Mary was retired, but had worked for Kannenberg and Marx, CW Transport, West Bend’s St. Joseph’s Hospital, and for Dr. Sison in Kewaskum. She was passionate about helping the village of Kewaskum move forward so she became a village trustee, a member of the library board and later the first woman village president. She was also a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Those Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Frank; three children, Jane (Gifford) Smith of Marinette, Kim (Gregory) Gutjahr of Kewaskum, and Gregg, “Beano,” (Hilda) Krueger of Kewaskum. Treasured grandmother “Granny” of Rachel, Kevin, and Katherine Smith, Michael and Paul Gutjahr, and Alexandra and Natalie Krueger; other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Julia Ruth Smith and Carlos Andres Krueger.
Mary’s final wish, to donating her body to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School, shows how much she believed in education and helping others. To celebrate her life a mass will be said at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Mary will always be remembered as a warm loving wife, mother and granny.
