Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 30, 2014, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg, at noon for Lorraine F. Gaedtke , whose Golden Gate was opened for her calling to her heavenly home on Jan. 25, 2014, at the age of 97. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Interment Immanuel Cemetery. Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lorraine was born on July 19, 1916 to Frederick and Agnes Voeltner. In 1937, she married the love of her life, Lester F. Gaedtke, who preceded her in death. She loved to travel to Door County to see the fall colors. She worked at Alstonís for 23 years. Lorraine loved to volunteer at Lasata Care Center and Ozaukee Humane Society, and volunteer and work at the Wollner American Legion Post 288.
The family wants to thank all the caregivers at Lasata.
She leaves behind her dear daughters, Judith (Richard) Breit of West Bend and Janice M. Judson of Door County/Sturgeon Bay; her loving grandchildren, Tamra Dagnon of Madison, Todd Beyer of Port Washington, Timm (Peggy) Beyer of Manitowoc and MaryJo (Kevin) Bartelt of Waukesha; 10 beautiful great-grandchildren, Suzannah, Noah, Andrew, Rebecca, Tanya, Michael, Paul, McKinsey, Danielle and Jesse; a special niece and nephew from Door County/Sturgeon Bay, Kim (Scott) Bubnik; special friend, Betty Robison; and many more nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester; brothers, Gordon Kemp and Frederick Voeltner; and sisters, Ethel Bublitz and Margarite Hamann.
