Judith M. D’Amato, 72

Judith M. D’Amato (nee Eickstedt), 72, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully March 8, 2014, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Judie fought and won many health battles over the years. She was a strong and determined individual who always turned to her faith. She most certainly earned her wings.

Visitation will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg, on Friday, March 14, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a service to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Judie was born in Cedarburg to Melvin and Gertrude (nee Jaehnert) Eickstedt on Jan. 26, 1942. She was a 72-year member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended grade school at FIL as well. She graduated from Cedarburg High School and went on to attend Hillsdale College in Michigan.

Judie enjoyed owning and running two restaurants with her husband, Vincent P. D’Amato. They owned D’Amato’s A Little Bit of Sicily for 13 years and Mr. Ribs for three years. She then became a manager at the Cedarburg Emissions Station and retired in 2007 to become a full-time grandmother to four grandchildren.

Judie was a fun-loving person and enjoyed making people laugh. She loved cooking, gardening, caring for all of her pets, reminiscing about all of the travels and adventures in her life and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Judie is survived by her children, Nicole (Tim) Setzer and Maria (Mike) Harris; and grandchildren, Amber, Allana and Audyn Setzer and Angelina Harris. She is further survived by nieces and family in Pennsylvania, other relatives and many friends.

Judie was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent P. D’Amato; her parents, Gertrude and Melvin Eickstedt; and her brothers, Thomas and Robert Eickstedt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.

Condolences may be left in Judie’s online guestbook through Mueller Funeral Home: www.muellerfuneralhome.com.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude to caring pastors of First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dr. Patrick R. Marsho and the St. Nicholas Hospital staff and Hospice for their support in her final days.
