Ervin S. Worzalla, 81|
Ervin S. Worzalla of Avalon Lane in the town of Cedarburg passed away at home in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was 81 years old.
Erv was born in Stevens Point on Sept. 6, 1932, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Worzalla. As a child, he and his family moved to Milwaukee, where Erv attended St. Casimir Grade School and graduated from Messmer High School with the class of 1950. Erv proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On Nov. 5, 1955, he was united in marriage with Patricia LaFrance. The couple settled in Milwaukee and raised their family. In 1992, they moved to Cedarburg. Erv worked as a postal carrier, machinist at Wisconsin Motors, foreman at Teledyne Wisconsin Motors, parts manager at Roth Distributing and as a sales counselor for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Catholic Cemeteries, before retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.
Erv loved spending time with his family, working in the yard, feeding and watching the birds (especially the hummers!), working on projects around the house and was an avid reader. He liked to make everyone laugh, and his unique sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed.
Erv is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Ross (wife Kat) Worzalla of Franklin; and his family, Michael Worzalla of Milwaukee, Kimberly (husband Brooks) Collins and their daughter Mya, of Beaverton, Ore., Katís daughters, Valerie (Michael) Meyer of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Diana Berenz of Madison; son, John (wife Jayne) Worzalla of Cedarburg; their daughter Krista Worzalla of Chicago; and Jayneís departed son, Benjamin Kins; and daughter Elizabeth (husband Christopher) Riggs and their children, Hollis and Colette, of Ann Arbor, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Hinz; and brothers, Jack and Larry Worzalla; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
