Pauline R. Emig (nee Reineking) of Thiensville passed away peacefully at Horizon Hospice in Mequon surrounded by her family on March 6, 2014, at the age of 84.
Pauline was born on Feb. 19, 1930, in Athens, the daughter of Adolph G. and Pauline (Nee Weiss) Reineking. Pauline spent her early childhood in Athens and later moved to Spencer. She then moved to Milwaukee to attend business college. After graduating, she moved back to the Marshfield area, where she worked for Hub City.
While living in Marshfield, Pauline met Arthur F. Emig and shortly thereafter they were united in marriage on Dec. 1, 1956. Pauline and Arthur moved back to Milwaukee and later settled in Thiensville, where they raised their family and where she assisted Arthur with the home milk delivery business. Pauline loved children and after her children were grown, she cared for and watched over many children in her home.
Pauline was a longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt. Pauline was a volunteer at the church and was currently volunteering at the Economy Center in Milwaukee.
Pauline enjoyed baking, bowling, reading, but most importantly spending time with her family. Pauline will be remembered for her smile and happy nature.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Arthur; children, Rose Wood, Jean Gill (Dan Engstrom) and Beth (Dan) Anzia; grandchildren, Dan Wood, James Wood and honorary grandson Ian Sarlitto; siblings, Margaret Cox, Helen Krueger and Dick Reineking; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pauline was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Reineking and John Reineking.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Freistadt. Visitation was at the church Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
