Mary Ann Shane, 89|
Mary Ann (Marianne) Shane (nee Osen), 89, of West Bend, passed away on Monday March 24, 2014, at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center, West Bend.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1924, in Green Bay to the late Roy and Ethel (nee Schmidt) Osen and was united in marriage to William “Bill” Shane on March 22, 1947, in De Pere. Together they moved to West Bend in 1948.
Mary Ann attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn., in 1946. She became a registered nurse and worked at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital for several years.
Mary Ann was a member of the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, and past member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her three sons, Don (Jan) Shane of West Bend, Richard (Bonnie) Shane of Greenfield and James Shane of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Paul (Kathleen) Shane, Kerry (Ryan) Hughes, Tom (Anita) Shane and Colin Shane; six great-grandchildren, Oliver and Mack Shane, Archie, Theodore, and Eloise Hughes, and Karina Shane; a sister-in-law, Helen Osen of De Pere; a brother-inlaw, James (Jean) Shane of Bay Village, Ohio; special friend and adopted grandchild, Carol and Molly Kellog; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on Oct. 28, 2013; brother, Roy Osen; sister and her husband, Helen and Ray Church; brother-in-law and his wife, Thomas and Charlotte Shane.
A memorial service in remembrance of Mary Ann will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church (323 S. Fifth Ave.) West Bend. The Rev. Wesley Falk will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
