Paul A. DuKatzPaul A. DuKatz, 43, of West Bend, entered into eternal life at his home on Monday, Dec. 29. He was born on April 30, 1971, in West Allis. Paul was a student at Barton, Silverbrook and West Bend East High School.

Paul started his love of martial arts at a very young age. Eventually, he turned his dedication and determination for the sport into a full-time career as a successful martial arts instructor. Paul was an accomplished 4th-degree black belt and entered many tournaments throughout the years.

His very first martial arts school was in Kiel. Throughout the years additional schools were opened in West Bend and Jackson. Paul was pleased to have held his 20-year anniversary at DuKatz Academy of Martial Arts this past August. He welcomed current and former students to the celebration.

Paul felt very strongly about youth involvement and the community and always welcomed the studentsí families to attend many events he held throughout the year.

Paul took great pride in volunteering with Project S.E.E.K (safe-educated enriched kids), Boys and Girls Club, United States Marines Challenge, Washington County Fair demonstrations and the bowl-athon for The Rick Kemp Scholarship Fundraiser.

Paul is survived by his mother Diane DuKatz of West Bend and father Gene DuKatz of Arkansas; siblings Gene (Betsy) DuKatz Jr. of New Berlin, Debbie (Bob) Kutz of Kewaskum, Denise (Tim) Grudzielanek of Prosper, Texas, Tracy (Rick) Schultz of the town of Polk and stepbrother Jason (Jennifer) Donath of West Bend; nephews Matt, Chris, Trenton, Brandon, Sam and Cooper; and nieces Steffie, Kayla, Grace and Lucy. Further survived by many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew Troy.

A memorial service will be held at Dukatz Academy of Martial Arts (111A E. Decorah Road, West Bend, WI 53095) on Sunday, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Schwerin of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at DuKatz Academy of Martial Arts from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Inurnment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park at a later date.
