Marian L. Vanderkin, 81

Marian L. Vanderkin, 81, of Cascade, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday morning, Jan. 4, 2015, at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Adell, a daughter of the late Edwin and Nora (Hillger) Weinhold.
Marian graduated from Plymouth High School in 1951.
On Aug. 30, 1952, she married Harold “Bill” Vanderkin at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2006, after 54 years of marriage.
Together they operated the former Bil-Mar Bowl in Cascade from 1973-90.
Marian was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade and was a past member of the Cascade Lions Club.
Marian worked at the election polls most of her married life.
She also enjoyed being a grandmother, doing crossword puzzles, watching the Brewers and Packers, going out to lunch, working in her yard, and playing sheepshead with her Friday sheepshead club.
Survivors include: Two sons: Gary (Amy) Vanderkin of Plymouth and Rick (Shelley) Vanderkin of West Bend; four grandsons: Jason Vanderkin (dear friend: Kayla Gries) of Plymouth, Cory Vanderkin (fiancée: Breanna Augustine) of Plymouth, Brad Vanderkin of West Bend and Marc Vanderkin, serving in Iraq; and one sister-in-law: Lorraine Block of Cascade. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Merle and Ethel Weinhold and Bob and Eileen Weinhold; one brother-in-law: Jerry Block; and one sister-in-law: Delores Model.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. The Rev. Richard Bidinger, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Marian’s name.
