Raymond Fligge, 91

Raymond Fligge “Ray,” 91, walked into the arms of Jesus on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Cedar Community in West Bend. He was born on June 23, 1923, to Anton and Anna (nee Kaiser) Fligge. He later met and married Betty (nee Habersat) Fligge on April 30, 1943.
He loved being a foreman at the Milwaukee Road, enjoyed wood working, long walks, fishing and gardening. He dearly loved “his Betty” and his family.
Ray is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Fligge; children Sandra Ann Axtman (nee Fligge), Raymond “Tony” (Becky) Fligge; grandchildren Darlien (JP) Pausch, Dawnmarie (Hugh) O’Donnell, Elizabeth (John II) Eads, Brian (Angela) Axtman, Laura (Doug) Davis, Matthew (Maria) Axtman, Nathan (Kim) Fligge, Seth (Angela) Fligge, Joseph (Chelsea) Axtman, and Susan (Dan) Wilke;
great-grandchildren Michael O’Donnell, James O’Donnell, Christian O’Donnell, Sophia O’Donnell, Jonathan Axtman, Daniel Axtman, Michael Axtman, Matthew Axtman, Emily Axtman, Nicholas Axtman, Jessica Axtman, Alyssa Axtman, Emma Axtman, Amanda Davis, Daniel Davis, Stephanie Davis, Leah Davis, Ashley Aldridge, Aaron Fligge, Katie Steele, Matt Steele, Molly Wilke, Sadie Wilke, Abigail Wilke, Kenadie Wilke, Gavin Wilke, Lanie Wilke, Griffin Wilke, Ethan Pausch, Landen Pausch, Lorren Pausch, Allysen Eads, John Eads III, and Colin Eads; and special friends Luci Daly and Al Jaeger. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn Behling and brother Harold Fligge.
A funeral service will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend) on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Short presiding. Visitation will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005).
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St Luke Lutheran Church (4860 Arthur Road, Slinger, WI 53086).
