Donald J. Sella, 77

Donald J. Sella, age 77, of Hartford, entered eternal life on Feb. 3, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family at home after battling more than 10 years with ataxia disease.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1937, in Milwaukee to Anton and Genevieve Sella. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beatrice Bemowski on July 30, 1966, in Milwaukee. Don graduated from Boys Tech in Milwaukee in 1956. After graduation, he started working for Briggs & Stratton as an electrician and later became a supervisor. He retired from Briggs & Stratton after 39 years. He also served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963, stationed in Korea.
Don loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed vacations with his family, fishing, hunting, baking cookies and making the famous Sella peanut squares. Don will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for being a loving husband, proud father and caring grandfather.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice (who cared for him so tenderly over the years); beloved children, Kathleen (Ken) Fischer, Colleen (John) Eggleston and Michael Sella; thoughtful grandchildren, Therese Eggleston, Jimmy Eggleston and Jessica Fischer; brothers, Kenneth (Pat) Sella and Richard (Sheri) Sella; sister, Diane (Julian) Sambroski; and sisters-inlaw, Janet Sella, Cheryl Sella and Rose Marie (Danny) Billings. He is further survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy Sella; brothers, James and Raymond Sella; and his sister, Patricia Sella.
A Memorial Mass for Don will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at 9 a.m. at the St. Therese Chapel, at Holy Hill (lower chapel) 1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, with the Rev. Fr. Fred Alexander, OCD officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary of the Hill Parish are appreciated. Special thanks to Horizon Home Care, especially the care given by Nancy, Katie, Liz, Joyce, and Shirley. The Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.
