Joyce and Norman were married for 49 years until Norman’s death in 2012. They were members of Pilgrim United Church of Christ since 1968. In the early 1970s, Joyce would call WGLB radio in Port Washington and the radio announcer named her the “Pickle Lady;” she loved talk radio. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She bowled in her early years and was a fantastic cross-stitcher. Some of her cross-stitching hangs at Pilgrim United Church of Christ. Joyce made an outstanding barbeque beef and a hash brown potato dish. Joyce loved being a homemaker and the light of her eyes was her two grandsons.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Wendy (David) Schuette; two grandsons, Nicholas and Benjamin; sisters- in-law, Bernice French, Maryann Wegner and Marie Wegner; special grand companions, Summer, the golden retriever and Socks, the cat; other relatives and friends.
