Kenneth R. Gross, 89, of Hartford and formerly of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at the Cedar Lake Home in West Bend.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1925, in the town of Granville, to Paul and Julia (nee Feerick). He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Rosemarie Schutte on June 25, 1949, in Milwaukee. Ken was a welder at A.O. Smith retiring as a foreman in 1987 after 39 years.
He was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a charter member of the Allenton Lions Club. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards, working the land and, most of all, his family.
Kenneth is survived by his loving children: Lawrence (Christine), Nancy Kurszewski, Allen (Donna), Paul (Leah), Richard (Jenece), Barbara Hilsmann, and Diane (David) Aldridge; 18 cherished grandchildren: Emmett, Alec, Dan, Keri, Leah, Ken, Jesse, Russell, Megan, Michelle, Alex, Jade, Lana, Heidi, Erika, Cathleen, Derek and Sean; four cherished great-grandchildren: Nick, Sarah, Max and Nora; dear brother, Edward (Geri). Kenneth is further survived by nieces, nephews, dear relatives and friends, along with special friend Marilyn Kolb.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Rosemarie and his daughter Suzanne.
Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth will be held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 Highway 175 Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. Davies Edassery officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, from 2-5 p.m.
Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence.
