Donald E. Lutz, 85
May 31, 1929 -- Feb. 22, 2015
Donald E. Lutz of West Bend, entered eternal life on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at his home. He was surrounded by his family.
Don was born on May 31, 1929, on the family farm in the town of West Bend to the late Ed and Florence (nee Bastian) Lutz. On Oct. 3, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Schneider at St. Mathias Church in Nabob.
His passion was his love for family and his animals. Don enjoyed going to fairs, going to sheep exhibitions, judging various animal shows and just about anything to do with animals. He also was an avid hunter and enjoyed any trip that included hunting of any kind.
Don also loved going out to eat, and visiting with his friends and relatives. He really enjoyed a good cup of coffee. However much he enjoyed animals, his true love was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Schneider), his loving wife of 55 years. He is further survived by his three children, Mary (Dan) Logan, John Lutz (fiancée, Brenda), and Sue Weisse (Nick); three grandchildren: Molly Logan, Dominic Weisse and Elizabeth Weisse; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father- and mother-in-law, Joseph (Olive) Schneider.
A public visitation in remembrance of Don will be held on Thursday Feb. 26, from 11 a.m.-noon at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. A private family mass will follow.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses at Aurora Hospital and the Aurora VNA.
