Alvina Kordosky, 83|
Alvina Kordosky, nee Knoeck, age 83, of Wallace Lake Drive, West Bend, died
Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born April 7, 1931, in Barton, the daughter of Lawrence G. and Odelia (Berend)
Knoeck. She resided in Barton and attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Grade
School and West Bend High School.
Marie worked at the West Bend Aluminum Co. after high school. She enjoyed
bowling, was on several teams and met her future husband at a bowling
On April 7, 1956, she married Marvin L. Kordosky of Random Lake, son of the late
Louis and Adeline (Degner) Kordosky, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception
Church in Barton. The couple lived most of their married life on Wallace Lake
Marie was a stay-at-home mom. As her children became more independent, she
worked part time at Amity Leather Products and eventually worked full time in
the “steno pool” at West Bend Mutual Insurance Co., where she was employed
from Sept. 29, 1972, to May 31, 1996.
Marie will forever be remembered for her sense of humor and the playfulness she
brought to each situation, especially the difficult ones.
Survivors include her four daughters: Lynn Grgich, Sharon (Michael) Reichert,
Sandra Ryan and Lois Kordosky; and three sons: Dale (Nancy), Dean and Mark (Kathy).
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Cory (Jamie), Jacob, Jessica, Jennifer
(Matt), Melissa, Megan, Daniel, Sarah (Chris-fiancé), Christopher, Travis,
Hillary, Katelyn and Jillian. Marie also has three great grandchildren: Cora
Lee, Kenady, and Kyla. She is further survived by one sister: Lucille Miller of
Germantown; and a nephew, Thomas Kordosky and his family; and Randy Grgich.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 48 years, Marvin, brother-inlaw Roman
and his wife, Mary, brother-in-law Earl Miller, a nephew Timothy Kordosky, his
wife Lisa and niece Kathleen Kordosky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. at St.
Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Nathan Reesman
presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery (new) later in the spring.
The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the
church on Tuesday from 4-5:45 p.m.
