Kenneth S. Heder, 82

Kenneth S. Heder, age 82 of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the Hartford Aurora Medical Center. Ken was born on July 20, 1932, in Allenton to Edmund and Celestine (nee Thorn) Heder. He served in the National Guard in 1952. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Klein on Sept. 22, 1962, in St. Lawrence. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed ushering and participating as a liturgist. He worked for Mercury Marine for almost 30 years, parttime at Super-Valu from 1966-86 and continued on working at the recycling center from 1990 to his retirement in 2014. Ken loved going to casinos, enjoyed reading, loved sports (especially the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers) and most of all he loved watching his grandkids sporting events. He was their biggest fan! He will be remembered fondly as a social butterfly who loved visiting.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Rosemary; loving children, Steve (Sandra) Heder of Franklin and Kevin (Eve) Heder of Greenfield; cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Courtney, Cade, Zachary, Collin, and Mikey; and his dear sister-in-law, Edie Bottleman of Oshkosh. Ken is further survived by other dear relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Scott Heder; his grandson, Jacob; and his brother-in-law, John Bottleman.

Funeral Services for Ken will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church (738 W. Monroe Ave., Hartford) with the Rev. Paul Johnsen officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
