Edward H. Behrens, 75

Town of Cedarburg resident Edward H. Behrens passed into eternal life on March 6, 2015, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Edward, 75, was born on Oct. 23, 1939, the son of Lester and Gertrude (nee Nierode) Behrens. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1957. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from a two-year agricultural short course.

He went on to operate the family farm until 1977 and then worked as an agricultural mechanic, box builder and greens keeper. On May 18, 1963, he married the “CATCH” of his life, Leila Wagner, at St. Paul’s Community United Church of Christ in Waubeka.

Ed was an avid outdoorsman who spent time with family and friends fishing, hunting, trapshooting and golfing. Hobbies he enjoyed were bowling, sheepshead, gardening and woodworking. Ed shared his many talents and his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Behrens is survived by his wife, Leila; children, Denise Beining, Debra (Randy) Neu and Deanne (Jesse) Schubert; grandchildren, Damien Beining, Cassandra (Phil) Gabor, Melanie Beining, Brad Beining, Savannah Neu, Curtis Neu, Aaron Schubert and Samuel Schubert; and two great-grandchildren, Mileena and Harper. Ed is further survived by his sisters, Karen Meinert and Susan Langworthy; brother-in-law, Robert (Yvonne) Wagner; and sister-in-law, June (Tom) Heise. Ed was preceded in death by a grandson, Collin; his parents Lester and Gertrude Behrens; in-laws, Aron and Violet Wagner; and sister-in-law Joyce Wagner.

Services and remembrance will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 2nd Ave., Grafton on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m with a Memorial Service to follow.
