Cannavo, of West Bend, died peacefully on Thursday, March 19th, 2015 at the age
of 89. She was born on Sept. 18, 1925, in Mount Olive, North Carolina, to Edward
and Eva Wiggins. She graduated from high school in Calypso, North Carolina, in
1942, and afterwards worked at Seymour Johnson Air Force base in Goldsboro,
North Carolina. It was there that she met her husband-to-be, Clayton.
After marriage in 1947, Charity moved to Milwaukee. She moved to West Bend in
1965. Charity worked for many years at Amity Leather, where she worked in
quality control. She retired in 1988.
Charity enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, playing cards, doing puzzles and
anything else to keep herself busy. You could always count on her asking if you
wanted something to eat.
Charity is survived by her daughters Marianne Cannavo of California and Linda
Mertens of West Bend; sons Steve
(Cherry) of West Bend and Cam (Jennifer) of Oostburg; grandchildren Heidi
Lindquist and Kristoffer (Sandy) Lindquist of California, Adam Gebhard, of

North Carolina — many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Charity was
preceded in death by her husband Clay, daughter Laura Cannavo, her parents,
