Darlene H. Albrecht, 79

Darlene H. Albrecht (nee Fox), age 79, of West Bend, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at The Kathy Hospice. She was born Oct. 25, 1935, in Sheboygan to Paul and Loretta (nee Klein) Fox.

Darlene was raised in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to William J. Albrecht on Dec. 31, 1955, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. They made their home there until moving to West Bend in 1966.

In January of 1969, their lives changed dramatically when Billís sister and brother-in-law tragically died in a plane crash. Darlene and Bill took in their niece and nephews and raised them as their own, providing them a loving and caring home. They were very grateful for their wonderful neighbors and all those who helped them with their large family.

Darlene enjoyed playing sheepshead and poker with her dear friends for many years. She spent countless hours supporting her children and grandchildren by cheering from the stands at their many sporting events.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill; their six children, Sandy (Jerry) Bloom of West Bend, Steve Albrecht of Madison, Tom (Daniela) Albrecht of Midland, Texas, Sue Albrecht of Key Colony Beach, Florida, Bill (Leslie) Albrecht of West Bend and Jim (Jenny) Albrecht of Madison; and their very special niece and nephews, Bob (Laura) Schroeder of Milwaukee, Bill Schroeder of West Bend, Bart (Liz) Schroeder of Oconomowoc, Linda (Greg) Grosz of Eau Claire, Pat (Shelly) of Mesa, Arizona, and Mike (Kate) of Fox Point. She is further survived by her 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister Vivian Lemke of Saukville; two sisters-in-law, Jean Fox of Sheboygan and Rita Albrecht of Glenview, Illinois; her brother-in-law Lou (Pat) Albrecht of Bettendorf, Iowa; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Loretta Fox, Billís parents, Louis and Aileen Albrecht, her brother Jerry Fox, her brothers-in-law Henry Lemke and John Albrecht and her sister-in-law Mary (Bob) Schroeder.
