John W. Wieting, 65

On April 10, 2015, John W. Wieting, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 30, 1949, to Catherine (nee Wilson) and the late Donald Wieting. He graduated from Menomonee Falls High School. On June 7, 1969, he married his soul mate Ruth (nee Goodman), and started his family in Richfield.
John was an awesome dad to Ann (Dave) Heer and Emma (Greg) Klink, and loving grandfather to Amandalyn and Allan Klink. He was a beloved brother of Robert (Donna) Wieting, Edward (Janet) Wieting, Jerome (Kathy) Wieting and Julie (Paul) Pfister; caring son in-law of Mildred (Dewey) Jacobson; brother-in-law of Paul (Debra) Goodman, Matthew (Jill) Goodman, Patti (nee Nack) and Jens Jacobson; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many dear friends.
Proceeded in death by father, Donald Wieting; sister, Donna (nee Wieting) Schwedler; stepfather, Art Drescher; father-in- law, Paul Goodman; and brotherin- law, Norman Goodman. John was a welder at Stolper Steel until 1983. Then he started truck driving. In 1996, John and Ruth bought their first semi, became owner-operators and leased on with Goeman trucking where he logged many safe miles doing the job he enjoyed. When not working, John loved being on island time, fishing, hunting, and having fun with family and friends. John was a loving, caring man who touched many lives and will be missed by all.
A memorial visitation will be held at St. Johns church, 2881 Division Road, Jackson, WI 53037, on Saturday, April 18, 2015, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at a later date on Washington Island. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated.
