Louise B. Marx, 88

Louise B. Marx (nee Schneider), age 88 of Kewaskum, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Samaritan Health Center. She was born Sept. 4, 1926, in St. Michaels to Michael and Rose (nee Gross) Schneider and married Edward A. Marx on Nov. 24, 1945, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Ed preceded her in death on June 11, 1967.

Louise was raised in St. Michaels. Following their marriage, Louise and Ed settled on a dairy farm south of Kewaskum. After her husband died, she continued working on the farm with her son until retiring in 1979.

For many years, she gave her time volunteering at the Samaritan Home and at St. Mary’s Church. She greatly enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid rummy player.

Her faith was very important to her and she lived it every day.

Louise is survived by her five children, Michael (Susan) Marx of Kewaskum, Mary (Richard) Thiemer of Kewaskum, Kathryn (John) Lehnerz of West Bend, Alan (Carol) Marx of Kewaskum and Lori (Paul) Lehnerz of Kewaskum; 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her son-in-law, Jim (Dena) Pardee of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; siblings, Edna Breit of Lomira and Donald (Garnet) Schneider of West Bend; sister-in-law, Gert Marx of Kewaskum; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Rose Schneider; her husband, Edward Marx; two daughters, Dianne Pardee and Shelly Marx; three siblings, Alice (Francis) Wiedemeyer, Wilbur Schneider and Ruth Ann Schneider; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arthur Breit, Raymond (Clara) Theisen, Joseph Marx and Helen (Hank) Goetz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Old Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at the church only from 3:30-6:45 p.m.

Louise’s family would like to extend a special and heartfelt “thank you” to the staff at the Samaritan Health Center, especially the fourth floor staff, the activities staff and the nurses and staff at Seasons Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Louise.
