James E. Mader, 77

James E. Mader, 77, of Newburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born on Sept. 9, 1937, to the late Theodore and Esther (nee Hanke) Mader in Hamburg. He graduated from Athens High School in 1956. He worked for American Motors for nine years, and retired after 33 years working for Simplicity. He married Joyce Gerner on Oct. 17, 1987. He enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, playing cards, watching movies, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Mader; six children, James (Patty) Mader of Prairie Village, Kansas, Kris (Steve) Marcus of Dallas, Tracey (Jeff) Zambon of Green Bay, Travis Mader of West Bend, stepson Brian (Karen) Gerner of Nashotah and step-son Bradley (Sheri) Gerner of Manitowoc; eleven grandchildren, Danielle Mader, Rebecca Mader, Alexa Marcus, Brianna Marcus, Kyle Mader, Mackenzie Zambon, Alec Fowler, Justine (Stevie) Comic, Gabriela Gerner, Brynn Gerner and Brooke Gerner; one greatgrandchild, Jehzelle Comic; sister, Vernell (Bob) Calmes; brother, Melvin (Phylis) Mader; sister- in-laws, Colette Mader and Elaine Mader; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Jerome, Ted, Vernon and Eugene Mader.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Drive, Newburg. Burial will follow the mass at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
