M. Cross, (nee Hartz) found peace Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the age of 80.
Mary was the beloved wife of John “Jack” Cross for 30 years. She was also
the loving mother of the Rev. John Paul Thompson, Jill Mary (Randy) Romens, the
late Judy Lynn Rehn, Jennifer (Christopher Davies) Thompson, David (Sharon)
Thompson and Rebecca (Matthew) Curtsinger; proud gramsy of Tyler, the late
Hannah, Luke, Max and Caleb Romens, Alexander, Brendan and Logan Rehn, Jessica
(Nick) Osiecki, Madeleine (Kyle) Olmstead and Olivia Davies, and Elijah, Judah
and two late grandbabies Obregon; great-gramsy of Evelyn Osiecki, Jack Osiecki
and Charlotte Olmstead; and dear sister of the late John Hartz, the late
Patricia O’Neil, Jude (Christopher) Sheridan, Bridgette (the late James)
Walters, Barbara Jill (Michael) Schram, Matthew (Lynn) Hartz, Andrew Jeffrey
(Carol) Hartz and Timothy (Susan) Hartz. Mary is also remembered by her
son-in-law, James Rehn and nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law and
other relatives and friends.
Mary was a wonderful wife and mother and a devout,
faith-filled Catholic. She loved and lived her life by the serenity prayer. She
enjoyed her daytime excursions, playing Rummy 500 with Jack, singing and playing
the harmonica. Not only was Mary a “Queen of Hartz/Hearts”, she was also
known by her family and friends to be quite the entertaining “Queen of

ProHealth Cancer Center are suggested.
Memorial visitation is Saturday, May 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church (225 S.
Hartwell Ave., Waukesha) from 10-10:45 a.m. followed by the celebration of the
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Private inurnment will be at (New) St. Mary
Immaculate Conception Cemetery, town of Barton.
