Darlene S. Hynek, 65, of Luxemburg, died Monday morning May 11, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family, following a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born Jan. 4, 1950, in West Bend, to the late Joseph and Lillian (Twachtmann) Hernickle. She was employed with N.E.W. Plastics Co. in Luxemburg for more than 20 years, retiring in 2015. Her enjoyments included crocheting, reading, sewing, music, gardening, car shows, home remodeling projects, her cats and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Angie (Kimm) DeWitt of DePere, Tanya (special friend Bob Martin) Hynek of Luxemburg, and WayeAnn Hynek of Luxemburg; three grandchildren, Adam and Jocelyn Van Pay, and Chyna Hynek; her partner, Brian Josey of Luxemburg; one sister, Joanne (Tom) Faber of Iola; two nieces, Rhonda Verges and Tammy Towne; and the father of her children, Jerry Hynek of Luxemburg.
Darlene was preceded in death by one half-brother, LeRoy Hernickle.
Friends may call at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry St., Green Bay, between 9-10:45 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015. Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. David Hatch officiating. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Luxemburg.
