Marjorie A. “Marge” Bannenberg, (nee Herbeck) age 88, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born on March 8, 1927, in Milwaukee to the late William and Claire (nee Stuht) Herbeck.
Marge was united in marriage to James Bannenberg on Dec. 22, 1967, in Waukegan, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Marge enjoyed poker, horse track betting and solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived by six children, Jean (William) Becker of West Bend, Donald (Mary) Peterson Jr. of Colgate, Kathleen Damrow of Port Washington, Patti (Wayne) Witz of West Bend, Lynn (Tom) Ulik of Lebanon and Daniel (Patty) Peterson of West Bend; 15 grandchildren, Cheryl, Larry, Brad, Doug, Carrie, Rob, Chad, Jerry, Angie, Tracy, Ryan, Katie, Scott, Danna and Danise; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evenlyn Holmes of Cedarburg; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Petersen, Mary Branta and Carol Dankert; and three brothers, Richard, William and Jack.
A memorial service in remembrance of Marge will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 3 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.), West Bend. The Rev. David Schoob of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King.
