Dorothy Handel (nee Sell)Dorothy Handel (nee Sell), “Dottie,” age 91 of Hartford passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Dorothy was born on Oct. 9, 1923, in Woodland. She was united in marriage to George J. Handel “Hunsie” on March 28, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington. She was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford and was strong in her faith. She enjoyed exercising, walking, gardening, and going out to eat at Schreiner’s Restaurant in Fond du Lac. She will be remembered fondly as a hard-working beautician for almost 50 years. She loved her family.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Michael (Linda) Handel of West Bend, Crystal (Darnell) Burg of Hartford and Terry Handel of Arizona; three cherished grandchildren, Shane, Dustin and Tamara; two cherished great-grandchildren, Shelby and Colton Vincent; dear nephew, Tom (Jeanine) Handel of Hartford; and dear great-nephews, Tyler and Brad Handel. She is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George J. Handel; her parents; her parentsin- law, Joseph and Ella Handel; siblings, Edna (Joe) Meyer, Irene (John) Rehberg, Alice (Bob) Stefan and Elvira (Matt) Kohler; and siblings-in-law, Helen Rhodes, Elmer and Morse Handel.

Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (1001 Center St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. Paul Waldschmidt officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 2-4 p.m.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice are appreciated.
