Margaret E. O’Reilly, 93
Feb. 27, 1922 -- May 17, 2015

Margaret E. O’Reilly, age 93, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening (May 17, 2015) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where she had been a resident for the past three years.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1922, in the town of Russell, a daughter of the late George and Martina (Fitzpatrick) Smith.

She attended St. Anne Grade School and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School. She graduated from Sheboygan County Normal School with a degree in teaching, and received her bachelor’s degree from Marian College.

On Nov. 23, 1946, she married Robert O’Reilly at St. Anne Catholic Church. The couple resided in Cascade after their marriage.

She taught school for 35 years in many different school districts, retiring from Kewaskum School District in 1984.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 28, 1996.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Christian Women’s Society in the church. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Cascade and belonged to the Christian Mothers Society in the church.

She enjoyed spending time with her “Lunch Bunch” buddies and her loving family.

Her survivors include two sons, Phil (Diane) O’Reilly of Plymouth, and William O’Reilly of Cascade; nine grandchildren, Mike O’Reilly of Plymouth, Terry O’Reilly of Adell, Brian O’Reilly of Plymouth, Karen (Jesse) DuChauteau of Oconto Falls, James Arndt of Black River Falls, Susan Arndt of Black River Falls, John O’Reilly of Two Rivers, Chris (Sarah) O’Reilly of Waupaca and Kelly O’Reilly of Cascade; six great-grandchildren, Payton, Rayne, Sophia, Hannah, Mason and Logan; one son-in-law, Bill Arndt of Black River Falls; one sister-in-law, Darlene Smith of Greendale; and one brother-in-law, James Christ of Menominee Falls. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Kathy O’Reilly-Arndt; one son, Thomas “Rooster” O’Reilly; one brother, Joseph Smith; two sisters, Eileen (Bob) Bohnhoff and Alta Mae Christ; and five brothers and sisters–in-laws.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. Dan Volkert, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will officiate.

Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Cascade.

Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Margaret’s name.
