Donald F. EhleyDonald F. Ehley, age 88 of Hartford, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. He was born on May 3, 1927, in Chicago to Mona Scherer. Don was united in marriage to Lois Funk on Aug. 9, 1947, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.

Don served his country in the U.S. Navy as a shipman on the USS Bunker Hill during the end of World War II. He worked at West Side Dairy for 15 years, then Hartford Union High School for more than 25 years. He loved working outdoors with his tractor, doing fieldwork and lawn mowing. Don enjoyed woodworking and volunteering at the Hartford Auto Museum. He had a special love for Bible study and sharing Godís word. In September of 1993, Don and Lois started the Hartford Pregnancy Help Center (now Seed of Hope Pregnancy Center).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois; loving children, Dave (Judy), Debra (Stephen), Alan (Ruth) and Lori (Gregory); 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Doris (Don) Williams and Norma Funk. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Don is preceded in death by his mother, Mona and stepfather, Allie Ehley; mother- and father-in-law, Floyd and Laura Funk; son-in-law, Gary Gundrum; grandson, Justin Ehley; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lee and Viola Funk, Merrill Funk, Charles and Virginia Selsing, and Oliver and Mary Ann Funk.

Funeral services for Don will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Faith Bible Alliance Church (W2799 Lehman Road, Neosho, WI 53059) with the Rev. Jeff Schimp officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. Additional visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Seed of Hope Pregnancy Center, Salvation Army and Faith Bible Alliance Church in Neosho are appreciated.
