Frieda M. Laubenstein, 96
March 29, 1919 -- May 26, 2015

Frieda M. Laubenstein, nee Rauth, formerly of Mayville, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun at the age of 96. She was born on March 29, 1919, in the town of Cedarburg to the late Herbert and Emilie (nee Bruss) Rauth. As a young adult, Frieda worked at a shoe factory for a few years.

On June 23, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elroy E. Laubenstein at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Elroy predeceased Oct. 1, 2006.

For nine years, she worked in the housekeeping department at St. Josephís Community Hospital in West Bend. She later worked at a cannery in Mayville, also for nine years.

For eight years, she taught Sunday school at St. Peterís Church in the town of Addison. She also was a member of the St. Peterís Ladies Aid in Kekoskee for many years. Later, she joined St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

Frieda had a kind personality, a generous spirit and always said please and thank you. Many of the people she met often commented on her incredible memory.

Survivors include one son, Ronald of Mayville; five grandsons, Richard (Carriann), Ryan (Maggie), Randall (Nicole), Robert (Amanda) and Roger (Sarah); eight great-grandchildren, Dalton, Avery, Aidan, Macie, Jillian, Nolan, Kilyan and Emmett; one brother-in-law, Howard (Shirley) Laubenstein; two sisters-in-law, Elvera Voss and Elmyra (David) Martin; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred (Gloria) Rauth and four brothers-in-law, Armin (Bernice) Laubenstein, Marvin (Angie) Laubenstein, Roman (LaVerne) Laubenstein and Charles Voss.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, at 1 p.m. at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira with the Rev. Matt Kiecker officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Jackson. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira or to the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.
