Ardis L. Quandt, 91
Feb. 24, 1924 -- June 9, 2015

Ardis L. Quandt, age 91, of Hartford (formerly of Woodland), passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Gardens of Hartford surrounded by her loving family.

Ardis was born on Feb. 24, 1924, in Williamstown, to Robert and Lucy (nee Schwantes) Schaefer. She was baptized, confirmed and attended parochial school at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Mayville. She graduated from Mayville High School in 1942.

Ardis was united in marriage to Milton Quandt on July 17, 1943, also at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Mayville, and they lived together on the Quandt homestead for 71 years. They were blessed with four children: John, Donald, June and Jayne.

She worked at Purity Cheese in Mayville, served as a member of the St. Johnís Ladies Aide and Woodland Fire Department Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Hartford Aurora Hospital for many years.

Ardis is survived by her loving children, John (Yolanda) Quandt of Las Vegas, June (Daniel) Strobel of Hustisford, and Jayne (Mark) Kitzerow of Oak Creek; daughter-in-law, Geralyn Quandt of Madison; 10 cherished grandchildren, 10 treasured great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Milton; her parents; her in-laws, Gustav and Clara Quandt; her brothers, Harvey, Norbert and Delmar Schaefer; her sister-in-law, Esther Schaefer; her sister-in-law, Verna and her husband, Lester Birr, and their children, Carolyn and Ronald; her sister-in-law, Vinilda, and her husband, Wilbur Witte; her son, Donald (Quincy); premature twin boys born in 1946, and a premature daughter born in 1958.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Gardens of Hartford for the kind, loving care they provided to both Milton and Ardis during their time there.

The family would also like to extend thanks to the caregivers from Seasons Hospice for the love and compassion showed to Milton and Ardis and the entire family during this difficult time.

Funeral services for Ardis will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. Johnís Lutheran Church (W2489 Woodland Road, Iron Ridge, WI 53035) with the Rev. Daniel Babinec officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Interment will be in St. Johnís Lutheran Cemetery in Woodland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Johnís Lutheran Church or to the charity of oneís choice are appreciated.
