Alverna O. McBride, 100

Alverna O. McBride (nee Chinander), 100, of West Bend, entered Eternal Life on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Celia’s Home, West Bend.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1914, to the late Ernest and Elsie (nee Gall) Chinander in Centuria. She grew up on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Charles A. McBride Sr. They moved to Illinois and lived there until 1955, when they returned to Wisconsin. She worked as a secretary for many years with multiple companies. She liked playing cards and had the “gift of gab” with others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Kendall R. McBride of Jackson and Roy E. McBride of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Kim (Kelly) Nichols, Charles (Cindee) McBride, Sean McBride, Randy McBride, Sheri (Paul) Gandrey, Jill (Dave) Justin, Lisa McBride and Kay (Joe Corriveau) McBride; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Norma Warnkey; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Charles A. McBride Sr.; son, Charles A. McBride Jr.; sister, Helen (Edwin) Asp; brothers, Arnold (Mabel) Chinander and Robert (Margaret) Chinander; and grandson, Michael D. McBride. A funeral service in remembrance of Alverna will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St., West Bend) with the Rev. Darin Wiebe officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Washington County Memorial Park.
