Violet R. Snyder, 85

Violet R. Snyder, nee Chaulklin, of West Bend, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on Feb, 15, 1930, in Rhinelander.
As a child, she moved to the Milwaukee area.
On Dec. 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Noel H. Snyder.
She spent a lot of time browsing rummage sales, flea markets and resale shops. She channeled this into a business, New 2 You resale shop in Barton, which she owned and operated for a few years. She later moved to Marble Rock, Iowa, and also operated New 2 You there as well.
Violet loved to read, dance to live music and was a creative and social person. She enjoyed watching “The Big Bang Theory” on television.
Survivors include three children, Michael Snyder of West Bend, Mary Schiller of Marble Rock, Iowa, and Patricia (David) Willsher of Marble Rock, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrna Brown of Milwaukee and Rosalie Bores of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Sue Chaulklin of Freemont and Roseann Chaulklin of Freemont; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by Noel; her parents, William and Laura Chaulklin; two brothers, Thomas and Larry; and two sisters, Kathy Waite and Carrie Stier.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, at 8 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. Glenn Butts officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation Friday from 6-7:45 p.m.
