Lucille A. Benter, 99 years old, of Fond du Lac, and formerly of rural Theresa, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Artisan Suites, Fond du Lac.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 7, at 3 p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (River Church), N8092 Highway AY, Mayville (town of Theresa), with the Rev. Douglas J. Zahner officiating. A visitation will be held on July 7 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (River Church) from 1-3 p.m. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Theresa.
Lucille was born on June 8, 1916, to George and Alvina (Pahl) Beck in the town of Theresa. She was united in marriage to Erwin H. Benter on June 4, 1938, in the town of Theresa. Together with her husband, Lucille farmed in the town of Theresa.
Lucille was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (River Church), town of Theresa, where she was a charter member of the Immanuel Ladies Aid. Lucille enjoyed quilting, traveling with her family and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Most of all, Lucille loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Ronald) Wendler of Fond du Lac and Mary (Ronald) Ciriacks of West Bend; her sister-in-law, Elvira Benter of Madison; her grandchildren, Susan (Tracy) Kinyon, Steve Wendler, Douglas (Kim) Ciriacks, Debbie (Jeremy) Glowicki and Dawn Theroux; 12 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Emma, Kate, Leah, Douglas Jacob (“DJ”), Taylor, Josiah, Morgan, Alycin, Kaitlyn and Megan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin in 1985; four brothers, Ervin, Armond, Vernon and Wilbert; and four sisters, Leona, Viola, Elvera and Arline.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (River Church) or the Lutheran Hour.
