James Tilt Sr., 80

James Tilt Sr., age 80, of Conover and Slinger, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in Conover. He was born on March 21, 1935, in Sussex, the son of George and Marjorie (Fillmann) Tilt. Jim was raised and attended schools in Slinger. It was there that he married Ann Huebschen in 1964. Jim was a proficient cement-and-brick mason and a carpenter. He was employed by the Schickert & Schlosser Construction Co., working on new store development and remodeling for the Kroger, Pick n Save and Sentry Food grocery store chains. After retiring in 1999, he continued his passion for remodeling. His last project was the purchase and restoration of the Sun Down Tavern in Conover, making it a great and fun bar for all to enjoy. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved restoring old cars and enjoyed collecting.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Lori (Michael Shulfer) Seefeldt of Conover; son, James Tilt Jr. of West Bend; sister, Jacqueline (Norman) Toll of Slinger; grandchildren, Stephanie and Justin Seefeldt; great-granddaughter, Aubrie Noble; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on July 20, 2015, at Hildegard Cemetery in Conover. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Amen Fund for the South Twin Lake Association at P.O. Box 163, Phelps, WI 54554.
