David E. EbertDavid E. Ebert, “Dave,” age 84, of Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Aurora Grafton Medical Center.

Dave was born on Aug. 12, 1930, in Hartford to Clarence and Goldie (nee Wendt) Ebert. He was united in marriage to Joan Moldenhauer on Aug. 12, 1961, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. Dave served in the United States Army National Guard for 30 years and was the State Command Sergeant Major for eight of those years. He was a proud member of the American Legion, Jaycee’s and served as the Lion’s Club President for two terms. He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he served as president of the church. He also was president of the Hartford School Board for 16 years. Dave worked at Stolper Industries for more than 30 years, as well as other manufacturers in the area. He enjoyed traveling and being a passionate member of the Republican Party, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joan Ebert; his loving children, David (Donna) Ebert and Beth (fiancé, Bob) Ebert; his cherished granddaughter, Molly; sister-in-law, Jeanine Welch; and stepsister- in-law, Kathy Belger. He is further survived by other loved relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, stepbrothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services for Dave will be held Friday, July 24, 2015, at Peace Lutheran Church (1001 Center St., Hartford) at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 2:30-5 p.m.

Private Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

Dave’s family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the ICU nursing staff and doctor’s at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton for the wonderful care he received, and to all of their family and friends for all of the prayers and loving support.
