Marjorie J. Sponholz (nee Dickinson), age 100, of West Bend, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Samaritan Health Center. She was born March 9, 1915, in Nemo, Missouri, to Charles and Bonnie (nee Cowen) Dickinson.

On Sept. 1, 1934, she was united in marriage to Herbert W. Sponholz in Jackson. Herb preceded her in death on July 24, 2001.

Following their marriage they settled in Jackson, and in October of 1972 they moved to Princeton. While living in Princeton, Marge and Herb helped establish the Princeton Senior Citizen Center. In May of 1994 they moved to Kewaskum.

Marjorie is survived by her five children, Herbert C. (Patti) Sponholz of Jackson, Carl (special friend Kathy Yogerst) of West Bend, Barbara (Charles) Spaeth of West Bend, Beverly (Eugene) Mueller of Kewaskum and Kenneth (Sandy) Sponholz of West Bend; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Gerry (Wally) Ritterbusch of West Bend and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bonnie Dickinson; her husband, Herbert W. Sponholz; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Sponholz; and two brothers, Charles “Fritz” (Alice) Dickinson and James (Winnie) Dickinson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Duane A. Swenson from Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Saturday at the funeral home from 10-10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Samaritan Health Center are appreciated.
