Harriet L. MeyerHarriet L. Meyer of Slinger was born to eternal life on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.

She was born on June 30, 1923, in Milwaukee to Henry and Lusetta (nee Mayer) Schopp. She was united in marriage to Gordon B. Weiss.

He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1952. She then married Wendell N. Meyer on Oct. 22, 1955, at Cross Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Harriet was a longtime member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Hartford and was a member of the Women’s Guild and Caring Friends. She was devoted to serving others in the spirit of Christian living. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and quality time with her family and friends. Harriet is survived by her loving children, James (Kristine) Meyer of Mequon, Karen (Charles) Krey of Kenosha and John (Linda) Meyer of Upland, Calif.; seven cherished grandchildren, Genevieve (William), Philip (Amanda), Sarah, Justin, Joshua, Carolyn and Matthew; two dear great- grandchildren, William and Natalie; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Dr.

Arthur) Stone of Chicago and Verla McCormick of Springfield, Ill. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Wendell N. Meyer; her parents; her brothers, Henry Schopp and Edwin (Jean) Schopp and her sister, Ruth (Wayne) Marek.

Funeral Services for Harriet will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at noon at Divine Savior Lutheran Church (3200 Hwy K South, Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Douglas Stowe officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Interment in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Freistadt.
