Randall HalvorsonRandall “Randy” Halvorson, 54, of Jackson, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

He was born in Milwaukee on April 9, 1961, to Don and Pat (Haley) Halvorson. Randy graduated from Washington High School in Germantown in 1979. He worked construction for many years with his father, and most recently was an over-theroad truck driver at Braun’s Express. Randy was a hard worker and an excellent mechanic who could fix anything and helped many people with his skills. He enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiling and NASCAR with his son. He also relished spending time with his family and granddaughter, Hailey. Randy loved the fact that, as a grandpa, he never had to say the word “no” and used this to his advantage many times by buying Happy Meals, gummy worms and ice cream. Randy used to be an avid skier, and he was part of the National Ski Patrol at Little Switzerland and won numerous awards for his service.

Randy is survived by his two children, Nicole “Nicki” (Andy) Smith and Daniel “Danny” (girlfriend Jessie) Halvorson; his granddaughter, Hailey and Baby Smith (due in April); his loving parents, Don and Pat Halvorson; his brother, Tim Halvorson; his two sisters, Debra (Scott) Anderson and Linda (Bob) Childers; and is further survived by Laurell Scholz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Jr. He was the loving friend of Bill and Val Tomasi, godparents to Hope Tomasi and niece Jessica Childers.
