Husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, veteran and pharmacist, Robert James “Jim” Bohn died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Sept. 8, 2015, in West Bend at the age of 86.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Loos; sister, Margaret Mary Palmer; children, Michael (Mary Pat), John, Cathleen (Terry) Peterson, Thomas (Kathy) and Christopher (Rachel); 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Margaret (Kress) Bohn; his wife of 49 years, Marian Carroll Bohn; and his son, Timothy.
Jim was born on Nov. 5, 1928, in Milwaukee. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and practiced pharmacy for many decades. Jim served as president of the Milwaukee County and state pharmacy associations and as executive secretary of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board. He was a decorated Korean War veteran who recently had the privilege of experiencing a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. He was a dedicated father who took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His thoughtfulness and humor brightened many lives.
A memorial gathering will begin Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at 9 a.m., with Mass at 10 a.m., both at the Grand Hall at Cedar Ridge (101 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to either Cedar Community Foundation (113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend, WI 53095) or to the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (1300 University Ave., Madison, WI 53706).
