Audrey Ruth Heppert

Audrey Ruth Heppert, 93, formerly of West Bend, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at the Augusta Area Nursing Home where she had been a resident since November 2013.

Audrey, daughter of Roman and Elsie (Hahn) Westenberger was born Sept. 19, 1921, in West Bend. Audrey was baptized and received first communion at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to Robert F. Heppert at Holy Angels on Oct. 26, 1940. The couple began their life together in Milwaukee before moving back to West Bend in 1953. When Robert retired, the couple moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. After Robertís health started to fail the couple moved to Fairchild to be near their son, Tom, and his wife. They built their home on Tomís property, where Audrey continued to live after her husband passed away in 2002. Audrey eventually required assisted living care in Eau Claire before moving to the Augusta Nursing Home.

For more than 60 years, Audrey and Robert had a wonderful marriage that revolved around the love they shared for each other, fun and adventure. Audrey was a gifted seamstress and throughout her life she spent many enjoyable hours sewing ó she even sewed a beautiful wedding dress for her daughter-in-law. She had also mastered the art of working with stained glass. With her husband she enjoyed riding motorcycles and boating. Her husband had his pilotís license so he taught her how to fly and she did take one solo flight. Audrey will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Carol Heppert of Fairchild; two grandsons, Andrew (Sheila) Heppert of Appleton and Patrick (Jessica) Heppert of Belle Plain, Minnesota; great-grandson, Levi Thomas Heppert of Appleton; brother, Richard (Gloria) Westenberger of King; and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sandra Ann Heppert; and two brothers and their spouses, Robert (Elizabeth) Westenberger and Eugene (Norma) Westenberger.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with the Rev. David Rybicki officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
