Charles Leland Neu, 78, of Neosho, entered into Eternal Life on Sept. 21, 2015. He was born April 9, 1937, in Neosho to Alphonse and Margaret (Adelmeyer) Neu. He was united in marriage to Ellen Marie (Kaiser) on May 6, 1961.
He worked for Carnation in Oconomowoc for 13 years before becoming a dairy farmer until he retired. His Allis Chalmers tractors were his pride and joy. He enjoyed deer hunting, mowing the lawn, driving his golf cart, playing sheepshead, constantly learning history, watching baseball and, most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed conversation with his sense of humor by sharing his jokes with family and friends.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ellen Marie; their six children, Janet (Russ) Benser, Larry (Andrea) Neu, Mark (Lisa) Neu, Gaile Weber (friend Jay), Douglas (Shirley) Neu and Lisa (Scott) Zimmer; his 13 cherished grandchildren; and five dear greatgrandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Nancy (Syl) Ruplinger; sister-in-law, Mavis Neu (Paul Di Gangi); and other loved relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Mary Ann Neu and Thomas Neu; son-in-law, Robert Lindemann; and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of resurrection will be 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Neosho. The Rev. Michael Petrie will officiate. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew’s. Interment is 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Neosho.
