Suzanne E. Sackett

Suzanne E. “Susie” Sackett (nee Reichert), 72, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehab Center in West Bend.

Susie was born May 16, 1943, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Williard O. and Lillian M. (nee Basler) Reichert. She graduated Hartford Union High School in 1961 and was a charter member of the “Big 10.” She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Sackett on Oct. 19, 1963, at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Hartford. Susie was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hartford, was a leading member of the Hartford Jaycette’s for several years and worked for Kennelly Hallmark in Hartford for many years. She enjoyed her coffee clutch time with friends and, most of all, time with her family and cherished grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong woman who enjoyed life, always caring of others before herself until the very end.

Susie is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Tom Sackett of Hartford; her loving children, Jeffrey (Tami) Sackett and Wendy (Eric) Casetta, both of Hubertus; her cherished grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jennifer Sackett and Morgan Casetta; brother-in-law, Charles Sackett; and her faithful friend, Oscar the dachshund. She is further survived by many other loved relatives and treasured friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Al and Anna (nee Pflanzer) Sackett; and siblings-in-law, Mary Sackett and Michael (Ardith) Sackett.

Funeral services for Susie will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-6:45 p.m.

Private interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
